Fruit Trees

Most fruit trees and plants are best trimmed in the late winter, before the new growing season begins.

Fruit trees will benefit from trimming all the watershoots and cutting back of old wood to the 3rd-5th node on each branch.

Evergreens

These trees can be tricky to trim. It is important to correctly identify the species first, as they have varying requirements and can often be mistaken for other species.

Late Winter is often best, and you should avoid pruning them in the Fall and risk compromising their cold tolerance.
